i have been repairing ovens and cookers for thirhy years and seen some things not built strong enough and this is one piece that is weakly built just be carefull pushing the knob back on otherwise you can push the back off the unit i have recomendid it because theres no all turnatif alan

Oven multi-functions fully restored
This switch controls our multi-function Hotpoint double oven UQ89. The main oven wouldn't stay on one function (say non-fan setting) and would wander between fan and roast joint modes all on it's own and the temperature would also change. Found it relatively easy to fit the switch once I'd got the top cover and front panel off. Works a dream now, rock steady performance.
