Scanners DVD
Scanners are human beings who can interact with other nervous systems; in effect possessing the ability to read thoughts, and without contact, able exert a physical influence on another person. The thing I really loved about this film was the examination of a gift as a curse. The opening scenes really setting the scene of how such a person plagued by the involuntary thoughts of others in their head, creating a living nightmare and making them social misfits. I remember the first time I watched it thinking it was a bit short but having watched the film again several times I now thing that the length is about right and any longer would have resulted in unnecessary padding. Patrick McGoohan is brilliant in his role as a doctor and I think it was actually much better for the storyline having ... I was actually very pleased with the quality of the DVD as video copies I'd seen before were not very good picture quality. Highly recommended.
